Revelation 5:5
The Lion of the Tribe of Judah
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
We have been instructed by our Lord to come boldly to His throne of Grace (Heb. 4:16), and this boldness is wrapped up in Jesus’ name, “the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.” (Rev. 5:5) Interestingly, the word “destroy” used in 1 John 3:8 is the same Greek word “luo” translated “loose” in Matthew 16:19: “whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven”! This suggests that our boldness in Christ leads to a ministry of both binding and loosing, all of which focuses on restraining satan’s forces wherever they operate.
Just like Christ burst forth from the grave like a lion springing upon its prey. He will burst upon every difficult circumstance we might encounter. And in the same way that a good loud roar from a lion frightens away enemies, a firm “in Jesus name” spoken boldly over a troubling situation will lose something of Christ’s power into that situation.
When we move into today’s battle with praise, the enemy becomes confused and scattered (2 Chron. 20:20-23. You will quickly discover:
1. Your burdens will be lighter
2. You will realize that satan is not so big after all
3. Christ, the Lion of Judah wins every battle
Let the praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand. Psalm 149:6
