Revelation 3:14
“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,
‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:
‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:
At first glance you would think the strong warning that is given to the church at Laodicea regards its degree of commitment and it wavering of purpose. But the words that are recorded are “these things says, the Amen” and the title “the Amen” refers to God Himself. This is not an angel a messenger of God but God himself and He is speaking as the beginning and the end.
It is God who speaks as “the Faithful and True Witness”. He is speaking of what is seen in you and me and can testify of it.
And lastly “beginning of the creation of God” indicates that He is the beginning. Not the first of created things, but that He was before all things were created. He was the one who spoke the world into existence and because of who He is all things are final before Him.
